Welcome to the official website of Taikai Germany 2011

The traditional Japanese martial art Bujinkan Ninpo Taijutsu has had a well-established size in Germany for many years. Many people still remember the Taikais that took place in the 80’s and 90’s in Germany with Hatsumi Sensei. It was a meeting between friends, where you could exchange experience with three days of training and practice under the guidance of Grand Master.

Since the last Taikai with Hatsumi 2002, there is only the yearly Daikomyosai in Japan where you have the opportunity to train with teachers from all over the world together under Hatsumi Sensei’s guidance.

In the meantime, the German Bujinkan has also “grown up” – so says Hatsumi Sensei. A large number of teachers who have regular direct contact with the Japanese Shihan and Soke, and which are improving their skills there, hand the idea of the Bujinkan in all its diversity on, each one in their own individual way.

Somehow, a few years ago, all German Shihans decided to meet for a German Taikai, where all German teachers which had achieved the 10th Dan, would teach together for 3 days. The “Taikai-Germany” was born, and it took place the first time in this form 2008 in Reutlingen, near Stuttgart. And almost everyone was there! Following the constant positive feedback from all the teachers and participants, the German Shihans are planning to organize such a meeting among friends, to have all the Judan teach together for three days..

The date for this event will be from 1st – 3rd October 2011 and will be called: The German Unity.

Hatsumi Sensei said once at the end of training: “You should not create kingdoms. To establish the kingdom means to create borders. And borders to other kingdoms evoke conflict. Hatsumi Sensei has repeatedly pushed to have us to work together. We are devoted to honor his wishes this year just as we did during the 2008 Takai.

Hatsumi Sensei strongly supports our Taikai-Germany 2011, and during my last stay in Japan he gave me the following calligraphy, which is read “Kon Yuu Yuu Bu” and translated by him means “Spirit Friend – Martial Friend”.

We from the Taikai team have made it our business to offer you all a successful weekend in the Nürnberg which lies in the Frankonian region of Germany. Here you can get acquainted with and learn from 4 – 5 training ground’s German Shihans. You can also meet up with your friends from other dojos, celebrate together, get inspired and find new ideas for your training sessions, and find a deeper insight into the nature of Bujinkan.

This website serves as an information, registration and planning platform.
Here you will find the addresses of the training halls, the Taikai hotels that we have arranged for discounted prices with, the location of the great hall where we will all get together and have our Takai dinner, and the Taikai bar for evening Taikai parties.

We are looking forward to your arrival and hope you will have a lot of fun and enjoy our weekend of German Unity, during Taikai Germany 2011 in Nürnberg!

Those who create their own kingdoms will disappear now.”
